    The confederation was formed from uniting the colonies into one single country. This was to form the dominion of Canada the confederation was to establish the government and the functions of it. The confederation was to have freedom and independence for everyone.
  • Lincoln Elected

    Lincoln Elected
    Abraham Lincoln was elected as president. 1860 Republican National Convention in Chicago. They nominated Abraham to be the 16th president of the United States of America. The outcome of this is that North Carolina left the union because slavery was ending.
  • South Carolina Secedes

    South Carolina Secedes
    The reasons that South Carolina seceded is because they believed if Abraham Lincoln was elected as president then America would end slavery. The outcome of this is that South Carolina was not apart of the U.S. anymore.

    The Cilvil War started in 1861 and started because of fights if slavery should be continued or not. The outcome of this was confederate troops firing at Fort Sumter and this eventually started the cilvil war

    Union and confederate armies went to Manasses Junction, Virginia and they marched with a force of 20,000 people along a little river. After they fought the federal s didn’t know what to do and they started heading toward Washington. The confederates won and the south got a boost of joy.

    Naval Battles: Monitor and Merrimac
    The Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack is famous because it was the first meeting between ironclad warships. They impacted Naval warfare for the future. Merrimack came at the wooden union ships. The Union forces tried their best to fight back with shooting cannons but, nothing was working. The outcome of this battle was very interesting. There are no facts that say either sides won or lost so it was a tie.
  • Battle of Shiloh

    Battle of Shiloh
    The Battle of Shiloh was also known as the battle of Pittsburgh. The battle began by the confederate army launching a surprise attack among the Union forces with commander Grant in southwestern Tennessee. There were a total of 23,000 plus casualties and there was lots of violence. The outcome of this is that the union won over the confederate forces.
  • Second Battle of Bull Run

    Second Battle of Bull Run
    The Second Battle of Bull Run was to get victory for the rebels. The larger union forced commander John Pope and George McClellans army. Lee had sent half of his own army to hit the federal supply’s bases in Manassas. This was led by Stonewall Jackson he was the hero of the First battle of Bull Run. Before this the rebels seized the supplies and burnt the depot.

    The battle of Antietam was the deadliest one day battle in American history. This battle had the most deaths in one day than any other battle it was considered the bloodiest battle. Due to this battle it gave president Abraham Lincoln the confidence to be able to issue for the Emancipation Proclamation. General Robert E. Lee had his Entire force for this battle.

    The Emancipation Proclamation was to end slavery and was created by Abraham Lincoln. It was created because of the cilvil war. The Proclamation said that all slaves were to be freed and this made some people mad.
  • Gettysburg

    The battle of Gettysburg in Pennsylvania also known as Gettysburg. There was an estimate of 50,000 casualties this marked a turning point from the Civil War. The Gettysburg battle had the most deaths in the Civil War since this battle went on for a longer period of time. Abraham Lincoln things Meade will intersect the troops to force surrender. Lincoln laments when he sees that he missed the opportunity on July 12.

    Siege of Vicksburg
    After a 47 day siege the Union won the siege and the confederates surrendered. This caused the union to win and get more power in the United States of America. Gen. John C. Pemberton’s Confederate troops surrendered to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant union troops. The union also pulled the win with Gettysburg too.

    The Reconstruction of the South lasted from the end of the Cilvil War in 1865 to 1877. This was a long timespan all throughout the cilvil war. It was to bring the southern states back to the union and to give them political rights. After the reconstruction was over it was guaranteed that they have rights. ( Reconstruction of the South)

    Northern voters mostly voted for Abraham Lincoln. When he was re-elected confederacy almost left the United States. Lincoln faced lots of challenges because they were in the 4th year of the Cilvil War. (Abraham Lincoln reelected)
  • Robert E. Lee Surrenders

    Robert E. Lee Surrenders
    On April 9, 1865 Robert E Lee agreed to surrender 28,000 Confederate troops to Ulysses S Grant. Lee and Grant held the highest rank in the representative armies. They are to have known each other since the Mexican war and the exchange need inquiries. The outcome of this was it ended the American Civil War effectively. He wanted to prevent unnecessary conflict between the south. We thought there was nothing left to do but go and see general Robert Lee surrenders
  • Lincoln Assassination

    Lincoln Assassination
    John Booth a confederate and actor was not happy with Lincoln as president because he was a confederate. He was killed at fords theater in Washington D.C. It happened only five days after General Lee surrendered to the Union.
