    21st Amendment
    The 21st amendment was passed by Congress on February 5,1933 only 2/3 of the congress voted on repealing prohibition. The crimes rates want up under prohibition I picked the 21st Amendment because the Congress did not want to pass the Amendment until February 20,1933
  • John Dillinger

    John Dillinger
    July 22,1934 John Dillinger was an infamous American gangster of the Depression-era. He worked with a group called ' Dillinger Gang Of Terror Gang '. In John life he escaped jail two times and he has one charge of homicide. On July 22 1934 John was killed by Samuel P Cowley who shot and killed John. I picked John Dillinger because he was an infamous gangster in the Depression-era.
  • Huey Long

    Huey Long was an American politician he served as the 40th Governor of Louisiana. In 1932 he became the United States senate in the year of 1934 Huey created a program called 'Share Our Wealth Program' for the homeless. The program became nationwide during the Great Depression. Huey made hospitals an charity hospitals- Heath care for the poor and in 1935 Huey was assassinated. I picked Huey Long because he had a really helpful program for the poor during the Great Depression.
  • Panay Incident

    December 12,1937 an America gunboat was anchored in the Nanking River. The Japanese and the U.S were not at war at this time but the Japanese attacked the gunboat. After the attack the Japanese apologized to the U.S for attacking them. The Japanese did not see the American flag that is why they attacked them. That attack made the U.S turn against the Japanese. I picked this because it was a misunderstanding between the U.S and Japanese. The attacked could have turned into something worse.
  • Cash and Carry

    On September 21,1939 the cash and carry was requested by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The Cash and Carry program was replaced by the Neutrality Acts in 1936 the program was only permitted to materiels that could not be used in war efforts. Franklin Roosevelt knew passing the bill it would cause conflict in Europe but the U.S and Europe allowed to let the Britain buy non war materials. I picked Cash and Carry because it looked interesting to me that the Neutrality Act got replaced.

    M&M Created
    M&M's were created by Forrest Mars & Bruce Murrie. Mars got the idea in 1936. When soldiers in the Spanish Civil War were eating chocolate pellets with hard shells. He wanted to make a candy that soldiers could carry without melting in warm weather.The M on the candy was not stamped until 1950. 1 bag of M&M cost only $.05. The logo M&M stranded for " Melts in your Mouth,not in your hand." Reason why i picked this event was because it looked cool and interesting.

    Katyn Forest Massacre
    The Katyn Forest Massacre took place in Gneizdouo Village. NKVD Chief Lavrentiy. Beria's proposal execute all the captive members.22,000 victims were killed and executed in the forest. 8,000 officers and 8,000 police officers were imprisoned. Nazi Germany discovered mass graves in the forest in 1943. The USSR claimed the victims had been killed by the Nazi in 1941. Nazi have been denying responsibility for the massacre until 1990. I picked this event because it sounded interesting.

    Detroit, Michigan on June 1943. The riot lasted 3 days and nearly 400,000 migrated. It was know to be one of the bloodiest riots in the nation's history. The city had become a stronghold of the Ku Klux Klan. I picked this event because it was one of the worst riots ever know.

    Second musical by the team of Richard Rodgers. The story is revolved around Billy Bigelow and his love with a miliworker named Julie Jordan. On April 19,1943 the musical opened up on Broadway. Time Magazine named Carousel best musical of the 20th century. 1945 New York Drama Critics Circle Award best musical. The Carousel won 3 awards. I picked this event because it was one of the best sold and seen musical of the 1940's.
  • Atomic bomb testing

    Atomic bomb testing
    Was tested in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Brigadier-General Leslie R. Graves an engineer was in charge of making the project.It took 3 years to plan and develop. Code name for the bomb was 'Trinity". The bomb had destructive power of 15,000-20,000 tons of TNT. Scientists moved themselves 10,000 yards away to observe the the first mushroom cloud.Germany was the original target but they have already surrendered. Japan was repainting left. I picked this event because they have a historic marker.
