  • The Official Day when the Declaration of Independence was Signed

    The Declaration was signed 56 delegates on August second in 1776. They signed in order from North to South. Two men refused to sign, they were the delegates from Pennslyvania and New York. Five men were not present at the signing, George Washington included. The signing was influential and imporant to our country's birth because it ignited the spark that lead to the flame of freedom. This signing was one of the most important first steps to our nation's freedom.

    The Day the Constitution was created to the Day it was Signed

    This day was very important to out country's well-being. The Articles of Confederation were a failure at everything, except dividing and settleing Western land. So it was apparent to our leaders that we needed to do something with the Articles or the nation would soon break up. So what was created was the United States Constitution. 38 of the 41 delegates present at the Constitutional Convention voted for the ratification of the Constitution. This was the day that the Constitution was signed.
  • The Signing of the Indian Removal Act

    On May 28th 1830, President Andrew Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act. This enabled him to legally confront and negotiate with the natives about their removal. The law was passed in both the Congress and the Senate, and then it was signed by President Andrew Jackson. The Trail of Tears was the forced removal of the Cherokee Indians from their homeland to modern day Oklahoma. It is influential because it ruined the relationships that the U. S. could've had with the Native Americans.

    California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush was the time when many people moved out West in search of gold. It all started when James Marshall found a 3 oz. piece of gold. Then young men all over the country were overcome and and headed west. These men were called 49ers. This event really changed the U. S. because it rapildy settled the Western land that would've taken years to be settled. The California Gold Rush really shaped America.

    American Civil War

    The Americna Civil War is the bloodiest war for Americans, ever. More Americans died in this war than any other war. This war was fought intially because the South had left the Union, but eventually it was about slavery. It included the battles of Gettysburg, Fort Sumter, and the 1st Bull Run. The North won the war, forever ridding the nation of slavery. This changed the course of American history.
  • President Lincoln's Assassination

    Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the U. S. He was unfortunately shot by John Wilkes Booth 5 days after the Civil War. This killed him, leaving his Vice Presdient to put the nation back together. If Lincoln had not been shot, Reconstruction may have gone a little smoother. In addition to that less blacks and whites who supported Reconstruction would not have died. Lincoln's death was devastating to everyone.

    Battle of Little Big Horn

    The Battle of Little Big Horn is very influential to our hostory, because it was the last big victory for the NA before they were driven out. The Battle of Little Big Horn is also known as Custer's last stand. Custer lead 700 men into that battle, and, unfortunately, zero came out. None of the Americans involved came out alive. It was very tragic for the Americans, and for the Native Americans, they lost men too.
  • Wounded Knee Massacre

    The Wounded Knee Massacre is a tragedy. By accident, Americans were startled and took the actions of the NA incorrectly, thinking they were preparing for war, and executed them. A minor arguement broke out between an Indian and Americna troop, a shot was fired and the massacre broke out. 150 Sioux Indians died, almost half were women and children. Only 25 calvary men were lost. This is influential to our history, because it was the last armed conflict with NA.

    The Vietnam War

    The Vietnam war occured when North and South Vietnam diagreed. The North wanted to bring the nation back together under Communist rule, the South didn't. The U. S. backed up the South. The war ended when the U. S. withdrew and the nation was reunited under Communist rule 2 years after. The war weakend people's trust in their government. The people distrusted the government to make military desicions right after the war. Veterans suffered physcoligcally, this changed the way we make war decisions
  • Apollo 11 Lands on the Moon

    “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" were the words that followed the event of Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the first humans to land on the moon, and 6 1/2 hours later Neil became the first to walk it. This event really began to shape some of our nation's future. "The Space Race" between Russia and the U. S. was a tough one, but when the U. S. won, more funding was given to NASA, leading to more discoveries.
  • Eruption of Mount Saint Helens

    The eruption of Mount Saint Helens was a terrible event. The eruption killed 57 people, many game animals that lived in the area, and destroyed hundreds of miles to wasteland. Some lives were saved, since the park was closed. After the eruption scientists became more aware of the danger of volcanoes. Now there are scientist who study volanoes and make sure we are safe. If we need to evacuatet they will tell us, and get us out of there. Now the U. S. is safer about natural disaters.
  • My Birthday!

    I was born on October 9th, 2000. I was born in Ephrata Community Hospital, to my Mother and my Father. At this time I was their only child, the firstborn. Now I am one of four children, I have two brothers and a sister. We also have two dogs. I, at this day, and age enjoy making artwork, reading, swimming in the Summer, and trianing my dogs. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
  • Terrorist Attacks of 9-11

    These horrific attacks occured when 4 hijacked planes flew into buildings. One into the North tower, one into the South tower, and one flew into the Pentagon. The other one never made it, thanks to the passengars who stood up to the hijackers. The attacks killed in total about 3,000 people. This event shaped so much of the American future. People became more amiciable to one another. Patriotism sky-rockected and people joined together. The Democrats and Repulicans went hand-in-hand.
