Mark Lindbergh son was found . Mark was an aviator this reminds me of Ralph in Lord of the Flies when he says that his dad will find him because his dad is a Marine. -
Jack reminds me a lot of Hitler. Jack gave the people what they wanted but to gain their loyalty but Jack had bad intentions just like Hitler. -
The Lock Ness monster remind me a lot of when the kids see the beast from lord of the flies. -
The war of the world talked about Martians on earth pretending to be humans. Sort of like Jack that acts like he's ok with Ralph being Leader and acting normal but in the end he turn's into a cult leader like not a normal human. -
To Hitler, the conquest of Poland would bring Lebensraum, or "living space," for the German people. ww2 was inspiration for Golding. -
Europe and Britain were at war and as we know the boys are from Britain it is also presumed that they were in the plane getting away from the war. -
Winston Churchill was smart with his moves the same way piggy is. Ralph also admitted it when he said that piggy was smart and he could think things step by step. Just like Winston. -
It is presumed that the boys are from Britain. I think Golding was inspired by the Battle of Britain because it is also presumed that the boys were escaping a war and they are from Britain. The war was mostly in the air. This could explain why the boys were in a plane. -
Mount Rushmore is a symbol of freedom and hope. Mount Rushmore reminds me of rock castle in Lord of the Flies because for Jack the castle is freedom and hope, Jack thinks he can live there and he also thinks of it as hope for them to live longer. -
In the book Lord of the Flies piggy tell Ralph. "About the atom bomb? They're all dead". Golding must of gotten inspiration from one of the most famous attack with an atomic bomb. -
Anne Frank believed that people were born with good nature. In the Lord of the Flies Ralph,Piggy, and Simon demonstrated that humans are born good people and that it's because of their thoughts and actions that we see this. -
In the book The Lord of the Flies The Navy is plays a role because Ralph dad is in the Navy and the Navy is what saves the boys at the end. The Battle of Atlantic is one of the longest and hardest fights fought during WW2 because the Atlantic gave the British supplies so Germany conquering it was important to the British. -
Britain played a big part in D-day because 83,115 out of 156,000 troops were Britain. The boys are also part of Britain and this could be the war that inspired the book. -
Ralph reminds me a lot of Franklin Roosevelt because Franklin kept things civilized. Franklin used his authority to keep humans civilized and Ralph uses the conch to keep the group civilized. -
The speech talked about The United States and Britain acting like guardians of peace and stability. We could think of Ralph and Piggy guarding peace and stability. I also want to focus on that Golding got inspiration from Churchill for Piggy. -
The cold war was United states vs the soviet union and cold war lead to world war 2 so the cold war also played a major part in world war 2 happening. The start of the cold war is unclear so I put 1 and 1 this is most likely to happen for other events. -
I noticed that in Lord of the flies Piggy doesn't have an inhaler and that's because in the 1950's the only treatment was pills or shots that gave adrenaline. -
Coral Island was about three boys stuck on an island. Golding was inspired from Coral Island the simplified version was for 12-14 years old and was released in 1950. -
Britain enters the Korean war. The Lord of the Flies, a war plays a background role but is still important to the start of the book. Nearly 60,000 British Troops saw action during the Korean war so this was big. -
Britain's first atomic bomb was detonated. In Lord of the Flies piggy tells Ralph about a bomb in Britain that exploded, its safe to assume that it was this one. -
In the beginning of the book Piggy tells Ralph about a Bomb and that his dad might be dead. The Hydrogen bomb was 1,000 times stronger than any bomb at that time. This bomb made headlines of course. -
Stalin is an example of Nature vs Nurture. In the book the Lord of the Flies Nature weakens the boys. Jack makes rules that help the boys survive Nature vs Nurture. -
Julius and Ethel from the UK were accused of spying for the USSR. This reminds me of Ralph spying on Jack and seeing them turn to savages. Golding is also from British so Golding definitely saw this event. -
The Black Box was a recording device designed to record the flight crews conversation. The purpose was to identify if a plane crashed or caught on fire. Just like the beginning of the the Lord of the Flies when the Plane catches on fire Golding could of gotten the beginning to his story from that invention. -
Vietnam divided to north and south or Republic and Democratic. This is the same when Jack and Ralph dived and they also had their own territories. For example Jack is rock castle and Ralph is lower on the ground. -
The CIA overthrowing the Government is like when Jack and the other kids overthrew Ralph. -
Korea split into north and south sort of like when Ralph and Jack split to make their own group. Korean split up because they couldn't agree on how to govern it. Jack and Ralph couldn't agree on a fire or hunting. -
Jack reminds me of Fidel Castro because they both were savaged in the way they ruled. Fidel also Made Cuba better just like Jack made his group better, Fidel also fought with people who didn't agree with him like Jack fight's with Ralph.
