Miles leaves Florida to his new boarding school, Culver Creek, in Alabama, for "The great perhaps'. When he arrives he meets his roomate Chip "The Colonel" Martin. He is then introduced to Alaska when he and the Colonel buy cigerettes from her. Miles later smokes his first cigerette which symbolizes his new independence, and breaking away from his parents. Alaska then tells Miles Simón Bolívar's final words; "Damn it, How will I ever get out of this labryinth."

Miles meets his roommate, who calls himself the Colonel, and they go buy cigerettes from a girl named Alaska.

Three shadowy figures take Miles from his bed duct taped his limbs together and threw him in the fake beach. They did this because they believed that the Colonel ratted out Marya and Paul for commiting a trifecta, although he didn't.

Miles is not paying attention in his World Religions class so Dr. Hyde kicked him out of the class. Alaska stood up for Miles and yelled at Dr. Hyde and left with him.

Miles, Takumi, the Colonel and Alaska got caught smoking by the Eagle, and are sent to the jury. Alaska and the Colonel take all the blame.

Alaska sets Miles up with Lara and they go on s triple-and-a-half date with Alaska and her boyfriend, the Colonel and his girlfriend, and Takumi. The Colonel angered one of the basketball players, who chased Miles and hit him in the head with a basketball, giving him a concussion.

During a rainstorm, the weekday warriors poke a hole in Alaska's room which floods her room and ruins many of her books.

Takumi tells Miles that Alaska ratted out Marya for commiting a trifecta.

Miles decides to stay at Culver Creek with Alaska.

Alaska and Miles spy on weekday warriors to figure out how to prank them.

Alaska and Pudge go through peoples rooms looking for porn. When they find some they go into the tv room and watch it.

The Colonel invites Alaska and Miles to his house (which is a trsiler) for thanksgiving dinner.

Alaska a Miles go to Coosa Liquors and buy wine, cigarettes and vodka. Later that days Alaska came to Miles crying. She was sad that she ratted, and the Colonel didn't trust her.

Alaska the Colonel and Miles plan to pull a pre-prank so the Eagle won't expect the real prank.

Colonel lies to the Eagle by saying he's taking Miles and Takumi to New Hope, in preperation for the pre-prank. They then went to the shcool's barn. Alaska and Lara arrived there later. At night they all went on their missions for the pre prank. Miles and Takumi lit firecrackers to distract the Eagle, while Lara but blue hair dye in Kevin's gel, and Alaska made fake progress reports and put them in weekday warriors mailboxes.

Alaska reveals how her mother died from an aneurysm when she was young and she was too afraid to call 911. Later that night Miles and Lara hold hands and kiss in the barn. Lara agrees to be his girlfriend.

Alaska dares miles to hook up with her and they start kissing but she got sleepy and left. Later that night Alaska comes to their room freaking out sayings she needs to go somewhere so they had to distract the Eagle so Alaska could leave.

The Eagle tells everyone to go to the gym, and announced that Alaska was killed in a car accident.

Miles calls his parents about Alaska death and then has a nightmare where Alaska dies infront of him.

The students went to Alaska's funeral. Miles saw that it was a closed casket.

Miles and the Colonel go to Alaska's room and take out everything that her aunt woudn't want to find. Then Miles reads The general and his Labyrinth and finds "Straight and Fast" written in it. They start to suspect that it may have to do with her death, but then they decide that it probably doesn't.

Miles found out that Alska's question in her final was "How will we ever get out of this labyrinth of suffering?"

Miles and the Colonel begin trying to find the reason behind Alaska's death.

Miles and the Colonel visit the police officers who witnessed the accident. The cops said white tulips were found in the car.

Miles and the Colonel steal the Eagle's breathalyzer, to test how drunk Alaska was.

The Colonel calls Alaska's boyfriend and deduces that they didn't get in a fight the day she died.

Miles finds Alaska's doodle of daiseys in the payphone. He realizes that it is connected to why she left.

Milesand the gang hire a male stripper for speakers day as Alaska's memorial prank.

The Colonel decides to pull a memorial prank.

Takumi, Miles, and the Colonel figure out that Alaka left because she forgot the aniversary of her mother's death.

Miles sees Takumis note saying he knew all along why Alaska left.
