The Attack
Darryl and Marcus are together talking how they really need to destroy the aphids in Darryl's book, so they cut class. They put the book in the microwave and destroy it. Then, Marcus uses a bonnet to send thousands of messages to Charles's phone. Later they meet their friends Van and Jolu, after they go to the park there is an explosion on the bay bridge. -
The Aftermath and Arrest
After the attack, Darryl was bleeding and Vanessa used her first aid on him because nobody else helped them. A few minutes later, Marcus was waving his hat on the street to stop someone to help them, but instead he and his friends were arrested. To conclude, the DHS made mistakes blaming Marcus and his friends being terrorist. When Marcus was arrested the cops treated him and his friends very badly. Marcu also loses Darryl. -
Start of Story
In chapter 1, Marcus gets called to Mr. Benson's office. While he is there, Marcus is accused of stealing some standardized tests under the name W1n5t0n, which is Marcus' name online. Mr. Benson, the vice principal, really doesn't like Marcus. Of course, Mr. Benson can't prove that Marcus is W1n5t0n or that he stole the tests, so Marcus gets sent back to class. On his way to class, Marcus get a new message saying that there is a new Harajuku Fun Madness game out, which is "the best game ever". -

Xnet
The Xnet is a computer network where people can have private chats. In the the book, Marcus uses the Xnet because he believes in the right to privacy. Marcus is fighting the Department of Homeland Security by using Xnet. He chats with people and it only shows the encrypted messages so the DHS can't read or understand them. Marcus convinced other people to use the Xnet. He wants to spread his knowledge and hope, so they can fight together. -
Web of Trust
Marcus and Jolu came up with a plan called the Web of Trust. Only people who trust each other with their whole heart are allowed to join the Web of Trust. They also have to know each other for a long long time. Sadly, not a lot of people showed up and this is an important event for Marcus because it is the only way he can get help from others. In the Web of Trust event everyone had a "public" and "private" key. Then, each one of them traded keys with other people. -
New Team and New Invasion of Privacy By The DHS
Marcus ends up getting his debit card refused, because the government uses the cards to spy on people. Then, Marcus ends up meeting a man, at a coffee shop. When Marcus left the store, he felt that he and the Turkish coffee man were on the same team against the government. Next, Marcus went back to school and ends up finding cameras in his classroom. The Government has put a camera there to keep the children safe, However; the camera is a symbol of invasion of privacy. -
The Possible Change
Marcus takes the new name "M1K3Y". Also, The DHS was watching Marcus, and police waned to ask a few routine questions to Marcus in front of his mom. His Mom ends up getting very angry, becuase they think that Marcus is a terrorist. The Police said; however said, that your son is not a terrorist. Marcus wants then to e-mail Van and Jolu to tell them about the hassles, but they don't know if they want to be involved anymore. -
The Turn
Marcus changed all the arphids of people so the DHS would think that everybody had something to hide.Then, the DHS caught his dad, but his dad still thought that they were doing the best for the country, even though they are not. Also People are starting to rebel against the DHS starting at a concert. -
Xnet Invasion
One night Marcus's dad got home very late because Marcus and the x-netter were "Jamming" people's fasttraks. But the DHS would bring more people to San Francisco. His Dad said it would be good, but Marcus says no because it's an "invasion of my privacy". But somebody from the DHS was using the xnet to get at them. The xnet was compromised by the DHS. Marcus will exchange keys with his friends in a web of trust. They will have a party to get every body to exchange their key's. -
The Party
Marcus had a party at the Suthro Baths, and at this party all the people who Marcus trusted were invited. The main point of this party was to create new keys so the DHS can't see what they are talking about on the Xnet. Marcus told his friends how the DHS had tortured him and his friends, and that's why Marcus wants to get revenge. -
The Truth Comes Out To The Parents
Marcus tells his mom everything that the DHS did to him and his mom is surprised by what Marcus tells her. After telling his mom, Marcus' dad gets home and Marcus also ells him about the DHS, and even showed the note that Zeb gave to Marcus secretly tok him to talk to Darryl's dad. Marcus told him Darryl was alive, was a prisoner in Treasure Island. -
The New Girl
Marcus went to meet Ange and also met van. He felt embarrassed to be with another girl. However,even though Van and Ange go to same school they were not friends. Ange Doubted if Marcus had a crush on Van. He tried to explain the truth but he looked like he was lying.Marcus and Ange went to Ange's house and they looked at X-net blog. There they saw all kind of great suggestion for Abuse of Authority. In hundreds of little and big ones, Picture and audio.m1k3y got lots of interview requests. -
Criminal?
Marcus is a criminal because he started vampmob where kids dressed up like vampires and say "bite bite bite bite bite" so he could get out of San Francisco. All of these kids trusted him and thought it was a game, but were hurt by the police and DHS when theycame out. Also Masha helped him escape.He doesn't trust her.Barbara's newspaper article about Marcus and the DHS prison cae out.Van likes Marcus and he tells her to give Masha's phone to call someone. -
The Escape
Darryl was in jail with Zeb who gave a letter to Marcus. He tells his parents, Darryl's dad, and a reports Babara tells him that he's Mikey. Marcus get a from Masha. She works for the DHS as a spy.She want to fight back and escape. Marcus is skeptical, but he's also scared.Marcus and Ange invite everyone to vampmob as a distraction for their escape. To play the game, they say <<Bite>> 5 times to destroy the other vamps. The end of the game is when cops say << Disperse>>. Marcus escapes. -
The End
Barbara found Marcus at a room where the DHS used to torture the prisoners.Over all Marcus still under arrest.The Governor threw the DHS out of the state. The DHS jailers are supposed to go to jail because at what Marcus did. arcus found Ange. The DHS drugged Ange when she wouldn't stop screaming for a lawyer.Marcus also found Darryl.Marcus and people who were with him need to go to court.A lawyer from the ACLU helps Marcus and wins with the video of his torture. Yes, he wins in the end!
