  • Lab - Volume of Solids

Students will use definite integrals to fin the volume of a pie pan and of a bunt pan. They will be using the technique of rotationg an equation around the x axis to form a circle and a washer.
  • Assessment - Volume Lab Report

Easy as Pi Students will write a a lab report using a wiki
  • Writing Assignment -Take It to the Limit

Take it to the limit Students will be asked to write about limits
  • Lab - Related Rates

Students will use derivatives to determine the rate of change of volume of a sucker as they consume it. Students will be asked to use their data to predict the time it will take to consume the whole sucker.
  • Assesment - Related Rate Lap Report

How Many Licks? Students will write a a lab report using a wiki
  • Writing Assignment - A Moving Experience

A Moving Experience Students will be asked to write a math problem using derivatives to find velocity and acceleration
  • Lab - Differential Equations

Students will create a differential equation that represents the change in volume over time of a cup that is leaking water. Students will solve the differential equation to find the time at which the cup will be half empty/full, and when the cup will be totally empty.
  • Assesment - Differential Equations

Is the Cup Half Full or Half Empty? Students will write a a lab report using a wiki
  • Writing Assignment - The Same, Yet Different

The Same, Yet Different Students will be asked define the differences and similarities of the four calculus topics.
  • Educational Film

Students will be given the topic for their educational film.
  • Critique of Videos

Students will view and critique educatinal videos from you tube.
  • Story Board

Students will use bubbl.us to create an outline for their film.
  • Filming

Students start to film the videos
  • Editing

Students will start editing and putting together their film.
  • Film Festival

Students will present their films to the Pre Calculus classes
