Gandhi was born on October 2nd, 1869. He was born near Bombay, while his family belonged to Hindu merchant caste Vaisya. -
When Gandhi was 19 he started studying at University College in London. He studied law and philosophy, during this kids would snub him because he was from India. -
Gandhi saw that Indians came to South Africa as laborers. He went to Natal Indian Congress for Indian rights. -
Gandhi demanded he would die or go to jail before he obeyed an anti-Asian law. Thousands of people joined him in declaring this, yet he was imprisoned twice. -
In 1919 Gandhi became leader of the Indian National Congress political party. In 1920 he launched a noon operation campaign for Indians, which lead to prison in the later years. -
Gandhi lead thousands of Indians on a journey to collect their salt. Gandhi traveled 200 miles just to b imprisoned again -
Gandhi retired as the leader of the party. Gandhi kept thinking more and more about how Indians wouldn’t have any freedom as long as the British Empire took over. -
In the beginning of WW2 he was now demanding independence. This lead him to more imprisonment from 1942 to 1944 -
Gandhi got his victory when India won their independence. The subcontinent split in two, India and Pakistan. -
On the way to his prayer in Delhi, Gandhi was killed. He was killed by a Hindu.
