    The Trojan War started Paris, the prince of Troy, kidnapped Helen, who is named the most beautiful woman in the world, from her husband Menelaus. Menelaus gathered many kings and soldiers from Greece to get his wife back. Odysseus was one of the kings that was brought to the war. The war went on for ten years and there was no succeed, Odysseus came up with a plan to make the Trojans think they had a peace offering and that they give up, but they didn't and the Trojans loss

    After Odysseus and his men left the Island with the Lotus Eaters, they went into another Island with the Cyclops. The cyclopes are lazy and they have no muster, no meeting, no consultation or no old tribal ways.

    Odysseus and his men went to the next Island, the Island of Aeolus, the wind king. Aeolus gave Odysseus two gifts, a fair of west wind that could blow away ships and a bag full of stormy winds. While Odysseus is sleeping, Odysseus men opened the bag thinking it was gold an sliver, but the wind blew out of the bag and made the ships go back to Aeolus Island. Aeolus said he will never helped them again because he thinks that their voyage is cursed by gods.

    Why doesn't Odysseus trust Circe? Odysseus doesn't trust Circe because shes a witch. She's also a killer and puts up many tricks.But he went to her for help and made sure she doesn't try anything. She is not trustful enough and people should not trust her for help.

    After Odysseus and his men left the Island of Aeolus , the went to the Aeaea, home and Island of the goddess Circe. The goddess Circe claims to be a witch. Circe killed Eurylochus men and Eurylochus told Odysseus to leave Circe's men. So Circe and Odysseus created a meeting and made sure she uses none of her with tricks.

    Circe describes to Odysseus men how to face the Sirens. The Sirens will draw them with their cries and their beauty. They need to plug their ears with beeswax, be on the sea. But if they listen to the Sirens, they will be tied up and be begging for their lives till they die.

    How dangerous are the Sirens? The sirens are some very dangerous creatures, but they block that out with their beauty and their cries. People see their beauty but they don't see them for who they really are. The might be seen as not dangerous or not harmful but when they start to use their sound, people start to die.

    After Odysseus passes the Sirens with his men, they runs into a mountain, a mountain with Scylla in it. She is huge and monstrous with legs like tentacles and had multiple fangs. Charybdis is the opposite. Scylla and Charybdis are partners. Charybdis controls sea while Scylla attacks boat.

    What did we learn about Odysseus in this war? He is brave and willing to do anything for a god. He is strong and will go through anything that comes in his way. People chose him for a reason. He is also a very intelligent.

    After Odysseus and his men went onto another land after ignoring the dangerous storm, they came upon these flowers, Lotus Eaters flowers. Odysseus and his men stop their for a mid-day meal. He sent two men to go get food but the men fell in love with Lotus Eaters and they though Lotus Eaters will do no harm. But, they ate the Lotus Eaters honey and never came back. The Lotus never cared to report.

    What did Odysseus learn from the experience from the Lotus Eaters? Odysseus learned that people can't trust anyone or anything. People are not who you think they are. The world has many things going on but yet people try to cover it. If something dangerous is going on, let people know.

    What did we learn about Odysseus men during this journey? We learned that Odysseus men are very irresponsible with Odysseus things. They are foolish and hardheaded. They never listen and they caused Odysseus to lose his trust and friendship with Aeolus. They are also some very curious people.

    How does this adventure help to develop the themes of the Odyssey? This adventure helps us with the theme by telling us how Odysseus kept going after him, his boat, and his men were attacked. Odysseus is a brave man and him going to the Trojan War and the adventure with Scylla and Charybdis proves it. He found a way to get home after all the adventures he been through. He fought back against Scylla and Charybdis with a broken boat.

    Odysseus tries to get his men to not pass and stop Thrinacia, the island of Helios, but his crew were staving ad decided to stop at the Island anyway. The disobedience angers Helios and threatens to stop shining if payment is not made for the loss of his cattle. Zeus sends down a thunderbolt to destroy Odysseus ship because of the disobedience. Odysseus ship is destroyed, all of his crew is dead, and he is the only one left.

    Odysseus finally returns his home only to find out its filled with suitors who believes that he is dead. The suitors want to marry Penelope and take his fortune. The two main suitors, Antinous and Eurymachus, are very rude and demanding and they take him as an old beggar. Odysseus reunites with his son, Telemachus, and planned on how to get their land back. Penolope gives up hope for Odysseus return so she sets up a challenge with the suitors with marriage with her as a prize.

    After all of these journeys, what did we learn about Odysseus? We learned that Odysseus will do anything for his people and for his family. He will do anything it takes to get his land back. He will do it all for love. Even if he gets hurt he will get back up again and fight for his people.
