Expansion of online courses and content

During COVID-19 pandemic most of the world’s schools were forced to implement online learning for home learning, this has certainly pushed ideas, technology, strategies, testing, research etc. In the aftermath, the door is now open to continuing and improving on what was set up and learnt from the experience. Increased access to the internet world-wide, especially in more remote parts of the world, will likely further increase the demand for such services.
  • 7,000 IB worlds schools / Mandarin becomes an IB official language

Rapid expansion of schools in China adopting IB curriculum and the language being one of the most spoken languages world-wide, this seems like a natural progression.
  • Introduction of online ‘Open university’ style courses

Allowing students in more remote parts of the world to gain access to IB content without the need for access to a physical campus or classroom on a regular basis, if at all. This could a be a potential direction, although face-to-face teaching and learning has its own values, technology is continually advancing and breaking barriers that once existed, making education further accessible to a larger number of people world-wide.
