The story takes place during the French and Indian war. The French are fighting for control of Fort William Henry.

Magua takes the commander and the sisters down a path

The group meets up with Hawkeye, Uncas, and Chingachgook. Magua runs but Hawkeye shoots him. They folow the trail of blood and rest at the rivver.

The group meets up with Hawkeye, Uncas, and Chingachgook.

The next morning the party wakes up to an ambush and uncas kidnaps the girls and makes the party chace him down inorder to return the girls.

They start their trip to save the girls and take abut three days to do so.

They arive at the mountian lair and then they hunt Magua.

Uncas dies tring too save the girls and Magua kills him. This causes rage in Hawkeye's party.

Hawkeye shoots Magua by the waterfall and saves the girls but at the price of Uncas

Chingachgook and Hawkeye burry Cora and Uncas and the book ends at the funeral.
