    Contnental Convention signs the Declaration of Independence
    The declaration was signed as the way to let the British know that they wanted to be a seperate nation. The Declaration contains the complaints that the Americans had. The signing of the Declaration lead the the Revalutionary war.
  • Constitutional Convention

    Constitutional Convention
    The constitution was signed and it was the second official government. The first ten admendments are called the bill of rights, the bill of rights hgives us the freedoms of religion, press, speech, expression, and many others.

    Lewis and Clark Expedition

    The expedition started in St. Louis in 1804. From there they followe the Missuri river until they got to the Rocky mountains and they stayed there for a little before turning back to St. Louis. In 1805 they tried again this time getting across the Rocky's and camped at Fort Caltsop for the winter. They traveled back to St. Louis with one million word journals containing thousands of new spieces for plants, animals, and nativa Amereicans.

    James W. Marshel found the first piece of US gold
    James W. Marshel was a carpenter and he was the first person to report finding gold in California. His findings was the start of the California gold rush. He found a three ounce piece of gold in a river.

    The California Gold Rush started in 1848 when James W. MArshel found a 3oz. piec eof gold. After that Men and boys flocked to CAlifornia fo rthe chance that they could find gold so that htey coul dmake a better living for themselves. Many of the mining camps were uncivilized and there weren't any laws. All of the men were unruly and unable to be controled. Instead of paying for supplies they traded champange.

    American Civil War

    The American CIvil war was a dark time for AMerica and we lost many men. When the south seceded it made the North mad that they left and started their own country with their own president, Jefferson Davis. In 1865, Jefferson Davis was captured and the war was over, because the COnfederacy surrendered.
  • Gettysburg Adress

    Gettysburg Adress
    The Gettysburg Adress was given as a motivational speech and a speech to dedicate the Gettysburg battle field as a cemetary to the dead. Abraham Lincoln was supposed to be the guest speaker but he ended up being the "main event". His speech took two minutes but it ended up being extremely important to keeping the Union motivated during the rest of the war.

    The Guilded Age

    The guilded age was when the majority of the cities's population was poor and in poverty but the few that were rich made the country look good because they were really rich. Many people came to America during this time for the idea of finding their fortunes and for the most part they would end up in poverty as well. During this time there were many tenements and slums were several families fit into a tiny apartment.
  • Battle of Little Bigh Horn

    Battle of Little Bigh Horn
    This is the battle where George Custer and all of his men died in a battle against hte Native Americans. We don't have a lot of information about this becuase only the Native Americans really know what happened becuase no soldeir made it out alive. Every soldier including George Custer was killed in this battle.
  • The end of the Frontier

    The end of the Frontier
    The Census Bureau decided in 1890 that the Frontier was no longer the Frontier. Because of the Homestead act people quickly flocked to the Frontier and section off their land. People then cleared and farmed the land and it was no longer considered the Frontier because it was no longer wild. The "wild wiest" was over and civilization moved in to take its place.

    (Couldn't find end date other then 1939) The great Deppression started with the stock market crash. The start of the Deppression is known as Black Tuesday. The stock market crash was a symptom not a cause of the great depression. The great depression happen because the ecomony collapsed and there wasn't a lot of money because the banks were using it to keep themselves alive.

    March on Washington
    This is the famous event where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I have a dream" speech. It was an important event because the march helped passed the Civil Rights Act in 1964. In the march 70-80% of the members were black.
  • Apollo 11 landing

    Apollo 11 landing
    Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldwin landed on the moon. When Neil stepped out into the zero gravity and took teh first step ont eh moon he said the famous phrase "One small step for man, one giant leap for man kind". That saying is still known today, and we were able to beat the Soviets to the moon. We got major bragging rights because of our achievement.

    I was born at woman babies in Lancaster and I live with my mom and my dad. I have four cats, Casper, Baby, Tewy, and Illeana. I have no siblings. My hobbies are writing, archery, reading, and music (writing/composing, and playing).

    9/11
    The terrorist attack on 9/11 and hit the twin towers, the pentagon and a field in western PA. The terrorists took control of four planes and three of the of the four planes hi tthere mark, the fourth one was headed for the white house but didn't make it. 9/11 was a major impact on the country becuase airlines were shut down and we became fearful that they are goingt o try to attack us again. 9/11 led to the death of Bin Laden their leader.
