Although he is most famous for having 6 wives, he had many other accomplishments.     In 1509 Henry VIII came to throne at just 17 years old after his father died. He ruled for 36 years. He brought his nation into Protestant Reformation. His older brother, Arthur, was heir to the throne. Sadly, he died and the age of 15, leaving Henry next in line for the throne. It was assumed Henry would enjoy a career in the church.

    On June 11, 1509 Henry married his first wife, Catherine of Aragon (who was was the widow of Henry's brother, Arthur). She birthed 6 children, all of which died except for one daughter, Mary. Henry became furious because he needed a male heir to take over the throne when he died. He wanted to divorce her, but the pope wouldn't allow it. This went on for many years. After the earthquake a tsunami hit followed by a 45 day aftershock.     In 1511, Henry was gifted one of the best armours in Europe by the Holy Roman Emperor, Maximilliean. His armour had a very bizzare look to it. It had two curly horns on either side of the head.     in 1511 the Portuguese captured Malacca. Albuquerque first departed from India for Malacca in April 1511. With him he brought 17-18 ships and about 1,200 men.     The two were married for just three years before she was executed on May 19,1536. She was charged with many things, such as high treason, incest, and adultery. Henry was dissatisfied with the lack of sons and wished to have a speedy end to his marriage.     Henry married Anne officially on January 25, 1533 after a secret wedding on November 14, 1532. She was crowned queen on June 1, 1533. Anne gave birth to one surviving daughter-Elizabeth I. Henry pursued Anne for many years while still married to his first wife. Anne rebuffed him repeatedly. This only fueled Henry's desire to end his marriage (another component in his break from Rome). Anne played a part in the reformation and assisted the spread of Protestantism in England.

    In 1534, Henry declares himself the supreme head of the Church of England. He did this because he was getting tired of his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. He had been trying to divorce her for years. The pope gave him the title of "Protector of Faith" and him wanting a divorce was testing that. So Henry sent an order that Pope Clement VII was acting illegally, and demanded that the church recognize the King as the head of the church and the protector of the religion.

    On May 30, 1536 Henry married his third wife Jane Seymour. She was Anne Boleyn successor (and one of her ladies in waiting). She was the wife who gave birth to his son, King Edward VI. They got married only 11 days after Henry executed his last wife, Anne. They got married in secret, and Jane never underwent a coronation, therefore was never officially crowned a queen.     On October 12, 1537, his only legitimate son Edward VI was born. Edward ascended to the throne at only 9 years old, when his father died. He was crowned at Westminster Abbey on February 20. Edward died at a very young age, ruling for just 6 years. He died at Greenwich Palace on July 6, 1553 at just 15 years old.     Henry declares himself the king of Ireland
    Henry and his predecessors were considered Lords of Ireland, but that tittle had very little power. More power hungry, Henry sent over two thousand men to kill off the most powerful family member of the Fitzgerald family. He wanted to please the Irish people, so he introduced the Protestant Reformation, which was against the Roman Catholic Church. His last part was to declare himself as the king of Ireland and gain more power. Although he was the king he didn't control much of the land.

Originally the land was being lived on by the Picunche Indians, but when the Spanish came they were place under the rule of the Spanish settlers.     The fire started on June 24, 1547. The fire destroyed parts of Moscow that had almost been entirely built out of wood. The fire injured about 80,000 people and killed about 2,700 to 3,700( not including children).
