    The first nickelodeon was built in Pittsburgh in 1905, and others quickly spread around the country. By 1908, almost 8,000 nickelodeons in the U.S. gave people the ability to stop in anytime to enjoy the constant showings. And they ran all day showings.

    A young show girl name Evelyn Nesbit had enjoyed a little bit of affection from Stanford White ( he designed Madison Square Garden). She later married Henry K. Thaw, Who did not like White at all. He later went on to shoot White who was entertaining at Madison Square Garden, and he was immediately arrested. It was really popular in the press that even Roosevelt was keeping tabs on it. Thaw was eventually freed and then immediately divorce Evelyn

    1908 Thomas Edison had made the lightbulb. Which of course was huge to society. For example, it’s something that can be used at night to illuminate a room. Also street lamps and headlights were made from the electric light

    The radios golden age was during the 1930s when by 1934 most of the homes in the US had had radios. Over 2 million households had owned radios and continuously used them

    Television had started entering US households, but the actual network television didn’t start until 1949. Television penetration had reached 71.8 percent with 35 million sets by 1956. With television advertising marketing rising so quickly it caused a drop in national radio advertising sales. However, magazine companies weren’t too concerned because they didn’t have four-color advertising yet.

    The mainframe form of computer showed up around 1940 to 1950 in universities and government agencies. Then in 1960 to 1970 it started showing up in film industries. Which helped film magazines reduce cost and improved production quality.
