  • The Proclamation of 1763

    Hoping to end the fighting, King George III issued the Proclamation line. This states that colonist cannot settle in the lands of the west. The colonist already living there had to leave because this land was for the indians. Lots of colonist ignored the orders. The moved to parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. The colonist did not want Great Britian to tell them where to live.
  • The Sugar Act of 1764

    The British need money to replace all the money the spent on the French and Indian War. So they tax use on sugar and many other goods brought into the colonies.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The British need money to replace all the money the spent on the French and Indian War. So they tax use on printed goods such as newspapers, legal documents, and even playing cards. This was called the Stamp Act. The colonist protest and boycotted products.
  • The end of The Stamp & The Sugar Act.

    Because of the colonist boycottting and protesting, the parlement canceled the stamp and sugar act. However the parlement taxed the colonist on goods such as glass, paint and tea. Again the colonist bocotted and protested. Then all taxes were canceled except the ones on tea.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was when the British fired on a unarmed crowd and killed 5 colonist. Before the british fired, the colonist made fun of them by calling "redcoats" and "lobsterbacks". The colonist through rocks and snow balls at them. An African American named Crispus Attucks was the first killed. Acolonist named Paul Revere saw this event and named it the "Bloody Massacre".
  • The Boston tTea Party

    The Boston tTea Party
    The colonist are tired of being taxed by Great Brtitian so 150 members of the "Sons of Liberty"dressed as American Indians and marched to the boston harbor. A group led by John Adams and Paul Revere manage to dump 300 chests of tea into the harbor.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was when all the leaders of each colony(exept Georgia) met in Philadelphia where they hopefully have a peaceful solution with Great Britian. They sent King George III a petition to remind him tha we have the basic rights of British citizens. It also asked to form militias. The colonist voted to stop most trade with britian.
  • "Give me LIberty or Give me Death" speech by Patrick Henry

    As the colonist prepare for war, a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses gavea speech. "I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" These words inspired the colonist and became the favorite patriotic slogan.
  • Lexington & Concord

    The British plan to capture athe two sons of liberty, but Paul Revere finds out there plan. He rides to Lexington to worn them then rides to Concord to worn the people. Meanwhile a battle starts a beginingof a new war. No one knows who fired first, but shots rang out and 8 minutemen are killed and 7 injured. The british move on to Concord where the minutemen are ready. After much fighting, 273 redcoats are dead as they retreat back to boston.

    The Dclaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independece was wrirten by Thomas Jefferson, but edited by Ben Francklin and John Adams. This day became known as the fourth of July and will be selibrated forever.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The battle of Saratoga was considered a turning point for the patriots because the french clothed and trained soilders, weaponized soilders, brought more soildes,and brought naval support. This battle was won by a sneak attack on a british convoy.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of york town was a victorous battle for the patriots. This helped win the war. The French naval stratigies were very important to stop british supplies. After aweek Cornwallis surrenders
  • The Treaty of Paris

    The war was over we wanted the redcoats to get out the colonies and great britian wanted all loyalist to be treated fairly.
