    Article on the Event Nixion, in an attempt to savage the war effort expands the Vietnam war into Cambodia. This enrages the anti-war movement calling Nixion's move hypocritical due to the fact that Nixion had recently been proposed peace and a winding down of the war effort.

    An video about the day.Upon hearing Nixion's announcementon the invasion of Cambodia, a group of graduate history students arranged a demonstration at the Victory Bell on the Student Green. Over five hundred students attended the protest a copy of the Constitution was buried symbolizing that Nixion had killed the Constitution and an even greater demonstration was planned on May 4th, 1970.

    Video of the burning.As the National Guard was descending on Kent State University campus an unknown entity set fire to the ROTC bulding around 5 p.m. To this day no one knows who did it, but there are many speculations. This created greater tension between the newly arriving National Guard and Kent State Students.

    [On this day](<a href='http://www.kentstate1970.org/timeline/may3rd1970)', as Kent was completely occupied by the National Guard, Governor Rhodes declared the protestors as dangerous revolutionaries and National Guard Adjutant General Sylvester Del Corso declared "Like the Ohio law says, use any force that is necessary even to the point of shooting." A curfew was declared for 1 a.m. Students protesting this curfew had a sit-in downtown which was dispersed by the National Guard at eleven p.m. Sme students were injured on National Guard

    Beginning at midday protests oranigized a few days earlier begin. The National Guard take postions around campus aiming their weapons at students. Rocks are thrown on both sides. Eventually the National Guard shoots canisters of tear gas are thrown at protestors, causing students to flee.

    Article from the New York Times about the shooting itself. As the National Guard disperes the demonstration they ascend to the pagoda hill. At exactly 12:24 pm, 67 shots were fired by the National Guard fatally injuring four later to perish Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Knox Schroeder and injuring nine others in a matter of 13 seconds.
