    The Japanese Army invades Manchuria without concent from the Japanese people or the emperor. Manchuria was invaded for its natural resourse and its extra space for the Japanese. Also, the emperor became more of just a figurehead.

    Mussolini (Italy) conquers Ethiopia.
    Mussolini started invading Ethiopia in October of 1935. Ethiopia had been conquered by May of 1936. The Italians wanted to have an empire like they did in the days of the Roman Empire.

  • General Francisco Franco’s Nationalist forces take control of Madrid (Spain), where he rules until his death in 1975.

    Franco became dictator of a nationalist military government in Spain. He and his followers won the Spanish Civl War against the Republicans. Italy and Germany had been aiding Francisco during the war.

    The conference lasted two days. By the end, they come up with a term of appeasement. This term involved the German's getting the German speaking part of Czecholslovakia but nothimg else.
