History: They had many ethnic & religous differences and broke apart when Josip Tito (te former leader) died.

European Union [Supranationalism]

Purpose: To help regulate the resources of those countries and work together for the economy and make the members more successful in competing with the US and Asia. To do that they made a common currency, removed tariffs, and began trading with each other.
