Chapters 1-16
Thomas, the main charcter, wakes up with the rest of the glader due to crazed people outside breaking windows and trying to kill them. They realize that their friend Taresa has disapeared and been replaced with a boy named Aris. He says he's from another maze, this time with girls. Strange things keep happening, their chaparones were hung, a strange man appears, and now they all have a deadly disease. To get the cure, they must start the "scorch trials", whatever that is. Chapters 16-22
Thomas and the gladers are directed by a strange man to enter though the flat trans, a futeristic transportation device, and start the scorch trials. They walk for miles in a pitch black tunnel. Nearing the end strange molten metal spheres appear and cling onto their victims head, eventually ripping it off. With fewer gladers they reach the end, at a desert that is unbearably hot and dry. They see a city about 50 miles away and start their journey. pgs.87-122 total 122 -
Chapters 22-27
They walk for days in the desert, with a decreasing amont of foood and water.They come across a small building and Thomas goes to inspect.The screeming stops and a girl steps out.It's Teresa,Thomas's lost lover.He thinks she's been
manipulated in her mind because she seems much different and scary.He sprints away.When they are nearing the city the next day,a horrific storm appears,with fast winds and abnormal lighting which kills seven and injures more before reaching the city pgs. 122-152, 152 -
Chapters 27-39
At the town, they are greetedby a crank named Jorge and hi friend named Brenda who will help them reach a safe haven and get the cure to the flare.They went to eat in a tunnel underground but they got split up. Thomas and Brenda runacroos cranks without nozes who try to take theirs. They escape on the other side of town and are drugged by cranks.They wake up to the other group.Thomas gets shot in the sholder and is saved by WICKED for some reason,152-228 total:228 -
Chapters 39-53
They head away from the city, and are caught by group B; the girls, and they have weapons.Thomas is captured by his old friend and dragged into the mountains.Tereasa brings him to a cave where she tells him that she never loved him, but instead loved the boy who came with them, Aris.then they trie to kill him by putting him in a gas chamber.He doesn't die, and is told by Tereasa after that she was made to do it by WICKED, so she still loves him.Thomas has lost all trust. 228-300 total 300 -
Chapters 53-END
Group A, B, and Thomas Tereasa and Aris reach the safe haven, but all it is is a flag. Then pods raise out of the ground, containing robot like things in which they think they have to kill. Soon another violent storm occurs, lightning killing some kids as well as some robots. They take cover in the empty pods until a flying craft comes to them. They get in, to be taken out of the trials, yet that is another lie... 300-360 total 360
