Chapters 1- 12
The main charchter, Thomas, had his memory erased and now is in the middle of a maze, in a large courtyard, the 50-60 kids living there call the glade.He has so many questions that won't get answered. His new friend is Chuck, a pudgey 12 year old. In the maze, ther are strange creatures that can kill people or "change" them. A "changed" kid came after Thomas so it had to be killed. Chapters 12-24
In this part of the book,Thomas meets the keepers of the glade, who are the leaders of specific jobs.He gets to work with a few,such as the gardener, butcher, and cook.There was a spotting of a dead griever(monster) The leader of the glade and Keeper of themaze runners went to investigate.The leader had gotten attacked by a griver and was almost dead,and the runner was trying to carry him back.They didn't reach the doors in time,so thomas broke the rules and went out to help.80-150 total 1202 -
Chapters 24-33
In the maze, the keeper of the Runners, Minho, is very mad at Thomas and tells him they were all going to die, and leaves thomas to fend for himself against the Grievers (Monsters). He is also left with the leader, Alby, unconcious. He sees the vines on the wall and ties Alby to them and pushes him up 30 feet where they stay.A griever saw them and chased thomas. 3 more came and he found Minho who led them to the cliff where the grievers fell off.They all survived against odds.150-210 total 1262 -
Chapters 33-End
Thomas and other gladers discover there is a hidden code in the maze, but it doesn't make sense, so thomas desides to get stung by a griever in order to go through the canging and retrieve some memories. There is a computer in a secret door in the maze where they have to put in the code. When they ga do it, many grievers are waiting for them and kill 20. They escape but are met with tragedy.211-375 total 1428
