    He was born in Scotland on January 11, 1815. at the ago of five years old he and his family moved to upper Canada, more specifically Kingston.

    He got married the first time with his cousin Isabella Clark, after two years of happy marriage she fell in a serious ill, they had two children ,the first one died at 13 months after birth and the second one went through infancy. and then she died at the age of 48 never recovering from her illness
