Jewish are expelled from Spain, this is known as the Alhambra Decree. This was lead by the joint Catholic Monarchs of Spain (Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon) ordering the expulsion of practicing Jews. They only had until July 31st of that year.

Anti-Jewish pogroms break out across Russia. Pogroms were first use in the 19th century, in reference to the anti-Jewish pogroms in the Russian Empire. These riots can lead to massacres.
