    March on Rome
    Benito Mussolini and the National Fascist Party organized a march to Rome, to demand the resignation of the the Prime Minister Luigi Facta. As a result king Victor Emanuel III. appointed Mussolini as the Prime Minister, and this event marks the start of the Fascist rule in Italy.

    After being rescued by the German forces, Mussolini established a puppet state in Northern Italy, but as the Allied forces advanced, the partisans captured and executed him on April 28,1945.
