    Birth of Muhammad

    Muhammad was born in Saudi Arabia in 570 A.D. He was the last prophet sent by Allah.

    Muhammad began sharing his beliefs on Islam that will be later written down and be called the Quran.
  • Jan 1, 622

    The Hijra

    After hearing word of an assassination Muhammad excapes north of Mecca to the city of Medina. It is known as the first year of the Islam calendar.

    Mecca is Taken

    Muhammad and his followers attack Mecca and take control of the city. As they do so they destroy all Arabic objects and buildings.

    Muhammad dies

    Muhammad dies in 632.

    Islamic Conquest

    The Muslims began to invade other areas in 633 and stopped in 1360 untill the mongols joined islam. The Muslims were said to slay anyone that didnt believe in Allah.

    The Quran is written

    Caliph Uthman has the Quran written down based on what the prophet Muhammad had taught while he was alive.

    Battle of Baghdad

    This date marked the end of the battle. During this battle the Mongols captured and destroyed Baghdad. It marked the end of the golden age of islam.

    Mongols convert to Islams

    Around this time most of the mongol tribes have converted to Islam just 72 years after invading and capturing Baghdad.

  • Muhammad marries Khadijah bint Khuwaylid

    in 595 Muhammad marries Khadijah bint Khuwaylid who is said to be the first to believe Islam. They stay married untill she dies in roughly 619.
