Tom gets a job
Tom and his family are low on money, so Tom gets a job at the brooklyn yard working on the Moniter. -
Tom gets followed by a spy
A group of "copperheads", confederate spies follow tom an tell him thet they will pay him well if he tells them information. -
Tom tries to evade the spies
Tom tries to evade the spies becuase he doesn't want them to know about the Moniter ironclad he is working on. -
Tom and his friends hold of the copperheads
Tom's friends ambush the confederate spies. However they can not hold off the spies for long -
The spys get cuaght and Tom gets asked to go on the voyage
One of Toms friends tells his dad who is a police officer puts the copperheads in jail. Also Tom is asked to go on the Monitor by the captain. -
The Moniter sets off
After lots of work on the ship the moniter finally sets to see. Tom says goodbye to his family and goes on the Moniter -
The monitor gets caught in a storm
While at sea the moniter gets cuaght in a nasty storm. Since the ironclad is so flat it is at risk to the high waves -
They arrive at hamton roads and see the union blackade destroyed.
The Monitor arrives at the union blackade only to see many of the ships recked. only one ship is undamaged. -
The Merrimac vs. the Moniter
The Merrimac arrives and a fierce battle between the two ironclads begins. -
The Merrimac is deafeted and the crew of the Monitor returns home
The Monitor defeats the Merrimac and Tom returns home. Tom continues to fight for the union.
