ireland city listI was born and grew up in Liverpool ireland. I lived on a potato farm and we had a good life. I had 12 brothers and 4 sisters. Life was good untill poverty struck. We all had to split up to make our own money so I decided to move to america.

Traveling to America

I am moving to america to escape the poverty of Ireland. I am traveling over to America by boat. The only problem is that i get sea sick. I have thrown up many times over the coarse of travel but It will all be worth it when I arrive. As we aproach america I can see how massive the city is, this is going to be good.

Ellis Island

More info on Ellis IslandMore info on Ellis islandShortly after I arrived in america, I was taken to ellis island. After waiting in lines for countless hours, it was finaly my turn to be inspected. I passed my insoection and I was approved to pass. After I passed I had to wait in more lines. By the end of the day they had givven me a room with poor living conditions. I fell ill and almost died, luckily I was realesed into america before I could get even more sick.

New york Slums

I have finaly gotten out of Ellis Island and i was excited. Untill i realized I had no money or no place to go. This led me to the slums. The slums were dirty and there was alot of crime. however i stayed here for 2 years untill In got a job.

Working on the rail roads

I got a job working on the trans contenental railroad. I got this job so that I could move out of the slums of New York. This job is dangerous because of explosives but i continue to work anyway. Not only that but alot of americans hate me because I took their jobs.

I get beat up

I was so excited with all the money i had made, perhaps too excited. A couple of american born men dragged me to an allyway. They were enraged that I had a job and they didn't. So they decided to beat me up and take my money. Life in america is hard.
