Military Aircraft
There was controversy as the government allowed United States military aircraft bound for the Gulf War to refuel at Shannon Airport while on the way to Iraq. The controversy came when Irish civilians began to look at the situation as Irland supporting the war in Iraq. -

Irish moved to make the abortion law less strict. For example, if the mother is in endanager due to medical reasons abortion is legal. -
Divorce
Divorce becomes legal in Ireland under certain circumstances. The law is opposed by the Roman Catholic Church. -
