    Ketchup

    Ketchup was first invented in 300 B.C. from meat byproducts, fish, soybeans, mushrooms, etc. seeing as tomatoes were considered poisonous during those times. In the 1700s, ketchup made its way into Brittish society; they loved this salty condiment. Finally, in 1813, the first tomato-based was developed. The tomato ketchup caught on, and in the 1900s, ketchup popularity soared like a unicorn.

    Bread

    Risen bread was invented in 1000 B.C. by the egyptians.
  • Kitchen Knives

    Scince humans have learned to cook food, knives have been around. However, our modern-day kitchen knives with the round ends were designed in 1637.
  • Refridgerater

    William Cullen came up with the principle of a refrigerator, however, it wasn't until Oliver Evans in 1805 that the refridgerator was accually marketed.
  • Metal Can

    In 1810, Peter Durand from London, England invented the metal can.
  • Can Opener

    The can opener was invented in 1858 by Ezra Warner in Waterbury, Connecticuit. That can opener consisted of a lever that would pry it open. It was then improved in 1870 by William Lyman in Meridian, Connnecticuit. Our modern-day can opener wasn't invented until 1925.
  • Pizza (Margherita Pizza)

    One day in June, Queen Margherita was out watching the peasants. She noticed they were eating a type of flat bread. She ordered her chef, Rafaele, to make her one of those delicious-looking flatbreads. Rafaele went to his kitchen and made one just for her. It had tomatoes, monzerella cheese, oil, ancovies, and garlic on it. That became the queen's favorite, so Rafaele called it the Pizza Margherita.
  • Ice Cream Cones

    One hot August day, Charles Menches, an ice cream maker had so many customers, he ran out of bowls to serve his ice cream in! Luckily, a pastry chef next door to the ice cream maker's shop stepped in to help. He gave his Zalabia, a flat pastry that he sold there at his shop and Charles rolled it into a cone shape. He scooped his ice cream into the delicious cones, and served them to his customers.

    The tea bag was invented by Thomas Sullivan in 1908.
  • Microwave

    The microwave was an accidental byproduct of WWII. Microwave radiation was accidentally used. The Dr. Percy LeBaron Spencer came up with idea in 1946. He released it into the public by putting the principle to work. He made a working microwave in 1954 called the 1161 Radarange.
