    Benjamin Franklin invented the Bifocals in 1784. He lived from 1706-1790. He died April 17 1790. Bifocals are the kind of glasses your grandmother probably wears. They usually have two different perscription for each seprate linse. They help you see better, one linse to help her see up-close, and the other to see far-away things. It helps our society by letting us see things better.
  • Cotten Gin

    Cotten Gin
    Eli Whittney invented the Cotten Gin in 1793. He also shaped the colony of Antebellum South. He was a pioneer. A cotton Gin is made from metal wires and hooks. It helps remove seed from cotton. Then they use the seeds to grow more cotton or if not regrowable, they disgard the seeds. The cotten is used to make cloth or clothing. It helps out society by letting us remove seeds from cotten, to make cloth clothes, more easily.

    Cyrus Mcormick invented the Mechaanical Reaper in 1831. He was born in Rural Verginia. In 1831 he also got a pattenet for the Hillside Pillow. Mose code is character encodings that pass telegraphic information using rythm. It uses short and long elements to represent characters, numbers, and symbols. It helps out society by letting us use Morse Code easier than back before we had it.

    Samuel Morse invented the Morse Code in 1835. He wasn't a scientist he was an artist, He was educated at Phillips Academy.

    Isaac Merrit Singer invented the Continuous Sewing Machine in 1850. He was also a singer/actor. He was born in Pittstown New York. The Continuous Sewing Machine is a machine that sews continuously, unlike a regular sewing machine, it keeps going by itself. It helps our society by helping us sew faster than we used to, without little effort.

    Christopher Lathem Sholes invented the TypeWriter in 1868. At age 18 he went to Greenbay Westconsin. He was married to Mary Jane McKeny. A typewriter is a machine similar to a keyboard. It was here before computers though. A typewriter is a tool that has keys with numbers and symbols. You insert paper and type what you want. The typewriter punches what you typed on the paper. It helps our society by letting us do news storys on paper withput computers, back then.

    Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone in 1876. He was an Innovator. His mom and wife were deaf. A telephone is a tool that is used to communicate long distances. You speak in it and it goes to the person on the other line, or phone. It helps out society by letting us communicate long distances.

    Whitcomb Judson invented the zipper in 1893. He served in the union army, and went to Knox Colledge. I zipper is a tool that lets you close things. You just pull it and it slides up the "teeth" and closes. It helps out society by letting us close things easier, and quicker.

    Willis Haviland invented the Air Conditioning in 1902. He went to Cornell University. He died October 9, 1950. Air Conditioning is a machine that blows cool air throughout the house, or area. It cools us in the summer, and gives us cold air when it gets too hot. It helps out society by leting us be cool when it is hot out.

    Mary Anderson invented the Windshield Wipers in 1903. She was a real-estate developer. She got her first pattent in 1903, it happened to be the windshield wipers. Windshield Wipers go on your car. They clean the watter off when it rains, or after it rains. It helps our society by cleaning out window. If out window on out car was dirty we couldn't drive. We couldn't see!

    Percy Spencer invented the Microwave Oven in 1945. His full name was Percy Lebaron Spencer. He was also an American Engineer. The Microwave Oven is a tool that heats up convienient foods, or foods that are already ready or parcially cooked. All you do is type in what you are cooking or a time, and it cooks it! It is fast and easy. It helps our society by by cooking foods fast if you are in a hurry.

    Douglas Englbart invented the Computer Mouse in 1964. He grew up on a small farm. He had farfetched ideas that were later taken for granted. Tnhe computer mouse is a tool that helps you use the computer. Without it you couldn't do almost anything. You use the computer mouse to click on things, play games, and more. It helps our society by letting us use the computers.
