    Development  of the Fascist Movement
    Benito Mussolini helped develop the Fascist Movement in which the fascists would start wars with veterans and encourage fights between socialists. Benito also hoarded weapons and bombs in his office. Fascism glorified both militarism and brute force. This led to Italy becoming a totalitarian state in which the government controls all aspects of society.

    Mussolini introduced these 3 battles in an effort to boost the economy. The battle for land cleared marshland and made it suitable for farming (success). In the battle of the lira, Mussolini thought that a powerful nation could not have a weak national currency so he inflated the value of the lira making exports more expensive (failure). In the battle for grain, Italian grain became expensive and the price of bread rose, which affected the poor the worst (failure).
