Our city, Kozani, is considered a small region which consists approximately of 70.000 inhabitants. However, it can accept almost 600 refugees, considering that according to surveys it seems that in whole Western Macedonia, around 2.800 refugees can be integrated. -
When it comes to the domain of enterprises, refugees can offer their help and contribute to the developement of entrepreneurship. They can find a job in a factory in order to make money, and with this manner the workload will be divided to more people and the work finishes more easily. In our city, in respect of this factor, refugees can help either by working in a factory or by assisting in surrounding fields by being occupied with the local agriculture. -
Our High School, and generally every type of school can help by doing diverse activities. First of all, it can organise some charities, where there will be different types of goods which are essential for refugees' life. Moreover, the headteacher with the aid of professors can make lessons specially for these children which come from refugee families in order to learn our language and other necessary knowledge. -
Through the arrival of refugees, our local community is going to have a number of positive impacts. For instance, if these people find jobs here, in this way they will offer the manpower to Kozani's residents. In addition, it is fact that, for the purpose of living, they need food. So, via the allowance which they take, they will spend their money on local shops, by boosting our city's economy.
