Soloman Veasey Caught !
As he travels he passes by a lake and caught veasey trying to drown a slave because of his sin he committed with the slave. Inman makes Veasey return the slave and then ties him up to a post. Inman knew that was not a true man of God and wanted to show his village the real side of Veasey. Inman doesn’t kill him because embarrassment was enough. Later in the journey Inman meets Veasey while Inman was crossing the lake. -
Snitch
Junior provided Inman and Veasey with shelter and food if they helped him move the cow. During war food and shelter were hard to come by. They were tempted by this offer and the women that Junior had home. The temptation they faced leads them to be turned over to the confederate soldiers. -
The Goat keeper
The goat keeper finds Inman laying on the ground and takes him to her shack and gives him a place to rest, provides him with food and cures him. Whenever he decides to continue the goat keeper provides him food, clothing, and a weapon. She said you already escape from war why not stop your journey from going back to cold mountain. -
Comfort
When Inman meets the young widow; the role of food and shelter become an issue again. The widow has lost her husband to the war; Inman and her are similar because both are missing the ones they love. She asked if he would lie with her but just as comfort. She just misses the comfort of her husband and wants to feel that comfort again. -
The Return
Through out the movie Ada wants Inman to come home. Even though he dies at the end of his journey, he finished his request to see Ada and died in Cold Mountain instead of the battlefield. When Inman and Birch are at the last stand with each other; he knows that Birch half’s to be stop from harming anymore people.
