    World War 1 veteran Henry Gerber creates the society/group for Human rights in Chicago. This is the first gay rights group to be created in the United States

  • The supreme Court rules in favor of gay rights

  • The Stonewall riots spark the beginning of the LGBT movement

  • Homosexuality is no longer considered a mental illness

  • Vermont becomes the first state to legalize gay Marriage

  • The gay community was allowed to openly serve in the military

  • President Obama acknowledges the LGBTQ community is the state of Address

  • Sexual Orientation is added to the military's anti-discrmination policy

  • The Equality Act is introduced
