    In Europe, the British Empire achieved the height of its power. Germany and Italy, which came into existence as unified nations in the second half of the 19th century, grew in power, challenging the traditional hegemony of Britain and France. With nationalism in full force at this time, the European powers competed with each other for land, military strength and economic power.

    A man called Eric Caruso created the world's ever first graphone recording. This is important because it revolutionised later inventions that inspired people t make the inventions that make better recording. Without the gramaphone recording, we would'nt be here today with all the recording software and we would not be able to watch TV or hear on the radio, etc.
  • Titanic sinks on maiden voyage

    Titanic was the one of the largest passenger steamships built at Harland & Wolff in Belfast and the ship was going to be unsinkable. Sadly it hit the iceberg and proved that it was not unsinkable. It was an important event because so many people died when the ship sank, partly because of the lack of lifeboats, after the sinking no ship was allowed to set sail unless there were enough lifeboats for everyone on the ship.
    It was called one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters.

    Albert Einstein, in his theory of special relativity, determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels This event is important because it helped influence other researchers that followed in his footsteps to discover more about the universe and the world more than ever before. He also helped future scientists and researchers discover more in space

    The use of aircraft was first used in 1911 in the Turkish Italian War. This event is important because it encouraged the use of aircraft because when they first used the aircraft, it was a very effective weapon, theofore promoting aircraft to be used more often for military purposes, as also contributing to the aeroplanes that we sit on when we go to a foriegn country

    This event is important because without Margret Sanger, women would have to give birth without special or professional guidence, and that could result in the offspring having some heath or physical issues.

    This event is important because it shows the desperation of the Bolsheviks as the czar's relatives trying to free him, and how that lead to the downfall of Communism in Russia
