    Malaysia

    Long term effects: Imperialism affected Malaysia by raising colonial taxes and they were forced to switch to cash crop farming instead of subsistence. Malaysia stills feels the effects of imperialism to this day, there are many conflicts in this country now, before the country was very peaceful.
  • India

    India got taken over by Britain and the long term effects were the restrictions on Indian trade and industries. India is still affected but not as much as they were when the British first took over India.
  • Australia

    Long term effects: The British exported a sizable amount of capitol to the colonies in Australia which included land, banking, and insurance/other finances. Australia is still affected by imperialism but not in the way you might think. Australia actually embraced how the british "ruled" and adopted the way they led them.
  • Eygpt

    The long term consequences of Egypt getting taken over are the loss of culture, loss of freedom and control, little to no education, and no health care. Egypt is still recovering in many ways but Egypt's economy is growing.
  • Austria

    The long term effects of imperialism in Austria was that the empire in Austria dissolved and new nations were created from its land. After many years of being imperialized, Austria finally declared that it was neutral and it has stayed neutral to this day.
  • Mexico

    Imperialism helped Mexico modernize and grow. Imperialism in Mexico had a positive affect to the country and it's doing well now.
  • China

    The lasting effects of Imperialism on China are pollution, overpopulation, and the abuse of workers. China is still affected by imperialism today but only in political and cultural context.
  • New Zealand

    Long term effects: After New Zealand was imperialized they started losing their access to traditional food and it started to become very crowded. They also started to lose access to general resources. New Zealand is still kind of affected by imperialism but the world is now wanting them to own up to their damage to the environment.
  • Vietnam

    Long term effects: Vietnam's natural resources were exploited and its people were treated very poorly. The leaders of Vietnam were considered powerless. Imperialism is still very much affecting Vietnam. Even though their economy is good, the effects on the people have not subsided.
  • Congo

    Long term effects: Almost half of the Congolese people died from punishment and malnutrition but many more died from diseases and torture. Congo is still affected by imperialism because of the major genocide.
  • Sudan

    Long Term effects: Sudan faced unsustainable power structures between the north and south which led to major conflict. You can still see imperialism in Sudan today because of the British.
  • Philippines

    The long term effects of Imperialism on the Philippines were bloody wars, loss of millions Filipinos, and suffering economy. The Philippines are still affected by imperialism today because imperialism is still happening in the Philippine as we speak.
  • Cuba

    The long lasting effects of imperialism on Cuba are cultural dominance, financial investment, and Cuba's island was secured as neo-colonial possession through political coercion. Cuba is still feeling the effects of imperialism.
  • Kenya

    When Kenya got imperialized by the British the long term effects were the huge effect on their economy, political parties, and culture. Kenya is still affected by imperialism but they are recovering.
  • Indonesia

    The long term effects of imperialism in Indonesia were the economy falling. The economy became under control over the Dutch and for a brief time, the British. Indonesia is still feeling the effects of Imperialism by the poor treatment of indigenous people, income/wealth equality, and weak government.
