    Henry Stanley found Dr Livingstone after he went MIA during his trip in Africa. He was found on the shores of lake Tanganyika.

  • Stanley explores Africa

    After finding Dr. Livingstone, Stanley begins to explore areas in Africa such as the Congo river, and is eventually commissioned by Belgium to gain lands.

  • Stanley gains land for Belgium

    Henry Stanley begins to sign treaties with chiefs of the Congo river valley, signing away all their land to Belgium.

    The French government approve a treaty to gain lands on the north banks of the Congo river.
