    Applicants to the u.s who wanted to become citizens had to wait 5 years for a application and live in the u.s for 14 years when application is admitted
  • The anti coolie law

    No one from america could help or prepare a ship for any "coolie" or a person from china. All transportation of them was banned even if the ship wasn't owned by an american. Any person who helped them would have to pay up to $2000 or spend up to 1 year in prison.
  • Displaced persons act

    The act helped with anyone who were victims of persecution or were fleeing persecution, and someone who couldn't go back to their country. This act dealt directly with Germany, Austria, and Italy, the french sector of either berlin or vienna, or the American or British zone and a native of Czechoslovakia. The person could bring their family if they were a good citizen and would stay out of jail.

    Granted a refugee status in the u.s for nationals of certain foriegn countries, american vietnam and korean war POW/MIA's
