Casimir meets a woman named Bonka and stages himself as Bonka's fiance so that Bronka would be able to enter the United States and not be detained at Ellis Island in legal detention.

    Adam Dulski is finnally releasted from Ellis Island from IPC charges after the Dulski Family shows the ten sons all of working age. Bronka dicides that she will stay with the family after all the help they were.

But they dicide they are not content with their small apartment and long for their own land. So they argree that they will save up money and go out west next spring for their own land.

    The day before Casimir and Bronka found out that the flatland that was well sought has all but dissapered and in only undisireable places. Bronya points out a peice of land that has slow rolling hills to the North-East and a small flat area with a stream flowing through it to the South-West.They arived at the land and Imediatly start working. They plow land next to the stream and plant corn and wheat, build a house at the bottom of the hills then begins an apple orchard on the hills.
