I live on the Irish Countryside and own a farm. Our father and mother died in a storm and our older brother Thomas took all the money. I started a store to try to earn a few extra dollars, selling my harvest.

Over the past couple years, business has not been well. I don't have enough money to pay rent and the landlord is getting kicking me off my farm. I are living in the shop and using the small farm in the back.

I couldn't afford to keep the shop. I sold it and a good friend told us of a house for sale that was only $1.00 a week in America. I am only bringing 14 rolls of string, some yarn, our farm tools, some seeds, and money. I am traveling in second class.

I have made it to America. My friend met at the dock. I have bought a small apartment with a garden and there is a shop down the road for sale that I plan to buy.

I have recently bought a store down the street from where I live. Production is slow but I manage. One lady ordered three dresses at $10.00 a piece. Thats enough for 10 weeks of rent. I have started a small garden and produce wonderful carrots.

I have recently learned that there is free land for people who claim the land first. They say this land is the best land for farming and could help with my business. I have purchased a former hunting horse and am getting ready to race.

I have found and claimed a plot of land. There are many trees in my area and a stream running through. I have cut down some trees and have started on a house. I am going to build a store next. The soil is rich and good for farming.
