    Wheellock Musket
    Johann Kiefuss invented the wheellock musket in 1517. When you spin the wheel with your finger, the flint pressed against its surface throws sparks. The same system was used in these firearms to create sparks as needed to light the gunpowder to fire the gun. This was inportant because it was little and easy to carry arund in war.     Lead Pencil (Graphite)
    Conrad Gessner invented the pencil. In 1564 a huge Graphite mine was found in England. The graphite was sawn into sheets then garved into square rods.
