Sampath trying to sleep
Twenthy years later, Sampath and his family were sleeping in the only room the had in their house. They had only one fan for all. Sampath was trying to sleep as the other members of the family but he can't because of their snores. -
Pinky's trip
Pinky got on the bus. In the bus everybody was shouting. She took a hairpin if some men try to misbeheave with her. -
Mr. D.P.S daughter's wedding.
Wedding day of Mr.D.P.S's daughter arrived. Sampath was aware fo filling glasses with sherbet, of washing glasses obnce they were emptied and then filling up again.
He started peeping into cupboards and opening doors. In one door, he saw a lot of peacock silk and tiny pleats of rosy satin. He pull down his pants over the wedding. -
Sampath's job
Sampath loose his job at the post office. Their parents told him to find another, but he didn't want another job. He didn't like his life like this. H e wanted freedom. -
Sampath moved to a guava tree.
Sampath climbed a tree, a guava tree. He moved on there but Chawla family was borried and full of distress. They went to the police station, called a doctor and went to see another doctor of Tibetan medicine. -
Sampath's bath
Ammaji heated up an enormous pot of water over the fire.Bucketfuls raised to Sampath via a rope levering system designed especially for this purpose by his father. The bucket would tilt at the pull of a string from down below, and the water would pour down, steaming a shower. -
Sampath's food.
All Pinky's efforts in climbing up with bowls and dishes had ended more often in accidents than success. -
Ammaji's denture
Ammaji wanted dentures. She bought a denture but then bought too an ice-cream. When she took a bite of her ice-cream cone, the dentures were dislodged from her gums. Ammaji dropped the cone and a monkey took her denture and rushed towards a tree. The Hungry Hop boy scared the monkey and returned the dentures to Ammaji. -
Path to Sampath's tree.
The path had been widened and was kept swept clean and sprinkled with rose-water. A small ladder had been set against the trunk so those interested in asking for blessing could climb up to the spot where Sampath danlged his legs. -
Sampath is a guru.
People went to visit Sampath. These visitors asked him things they matter and Sampath answer them all. -
Sampath's nutrition.
Kulfi was responsible for Sampath's nutrition. She went over the trees where the forest bordered the field so as to check the cane traps she made fot pheseants and other birdwhales. -
The monkeys.
The monkeys, when they first arrived, looked upon Sampath.These monkeys sat grouped about Sampath. They were very gentle. They will ate everything they could grab and run away with.
