    He was transferred to Havre, France, and arrived at the front line.

    He was wounded and gassed.

  • Hospital

    Returned to England and admitted to the Chester War Hospital

  • Returning Home

    Hugh returned to Australia on the hospital ship Nestor.

  • Discharged Medically

    After the assessment, he was discharged medically unfit.
