    Saint Paul, the Apostle
    St Paul was an influential figure and helped to codify and unify the direction of the emerging religion of Christianity. His writings form a key section of the New Testament. A thing he was trying to accomplish was spreading the word of Jesus by traveling thousands of miles and sharing all of the good that can come from believing in Jesus. He is important because he is one of the earliest Christian missionaries and helped people discover a religion that is still prominent in todays world.

    Religion of Islam
    Founded by the prophet Muhammad, Islam is one of the world’s largest and most historic religions. The core of Islamic teaching is the Quran; a collection of the revelations that Muhammad received from an angel of God(Allah) in his childhood. In the Quran were the 5 pillars which the religion was based off of. Islam is important because it has grown massively since its beginning, and has played a major role in shaping the cultural landscape, politics, and way of life of those in the Middle East.

    Unknown artist. The stained glass windows are considered some of the most beautiful in the world today. There are between 150 and 170 medieval stained glass windows in Chartres Cathedral. It is one of the best preserved examples of french gothic architecture. The windows are devoted to Christ. The beauty of the windows are message enough, it shows a story or design in every widow. This work is important because it is one of the oldest and greatest treasure of medieval stained glass in France.

    Beginning with the philosopher Plato, Idealism- the philosophical theory that reality is essentially mental or spiritual. Idealism is opposed to materialism, the theory that reality is physical. The message of idealist is that they regard the mind and spirit as the most essential, permanent aspects of one’s being. Its important because having passion and purpose give power to inspire, and motivate. Someone with an open, idealistic mind can produce new ideas and provide new opportunities.

    This poem written by Robert Burns, is a love poem comparing his love to a red rose. He writes his love is so deep for her but he feels the need to leave for a while, but he will come back to love her again. The message is about love and time because it talks about the flower and love, with the flower having a very short lifespan, like some loves. Burns was one of the first people to put his oral work into writing.This poem is about simple love that will last a lifetime, that is important.

    Einstein is responsible for E=mc^2 which is probably the worlds most famous equations because of all it is used for. Coming from his theory or relativity, it gives us an equation that a tiny amount of mass can be converted into huge amounts of energy. It had an effect for the development of nuclear power, and led to our reliance on coal and oil. He changed the laws of physics. This is important because without him, many things wouldn't be as they are today like our concepts of time and space.

    This musical, written by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II, tells the story of a family of performers living on a show boat, and their struggles with gambling, race, infidelity, and poverty. It changes the course of theatre by managing to investigate such topics as race relations, miscegenation, and unhappy marriage while remaining entertaining and musically beautiful. This balance of entertainment makes this musical a legacy, and it is important because it deals with the issues at that time.

    Happening on the New York Stock Exchange, and also known as the greatest stock market crash in the history of the United States, on what is known as "black Tuesday". The crash started the Great Depression that lasted about 10 years. It was caused by economic imbalances and structural failing. This is an important date because nothing like this had ever happened before & it changed the course of the history for the US because they went in to mass depression- closing bank, mass unemployment, etc.

    Written by Harper Lee, this book is a well known and influential one. It teaches important lessons on friendship, family, forgiveness, and standing up for what is right. The civil rights movement was at this time and the book was relevant because it hit controversial topics head on and dealt with human nature.This literature is important because it tells you to stand up for what is right even if the system is against you. To me, Lee is saying to do the right thing and put aside your differences.

    This work of art is an example of pop art; combining popular images that celebrate commonplace objects and people of everyday life. Andy made it ok to put common objects into the form of artwork, and other people followed his thinking, which is what was trying to be accomplished. This piece is important because he made art the media and people wanted to share and that's most important legacy he leaves behind as an artist. He was a successful ad designer and this piece is still remembered today.

    This song supposedly kickstarted the glorious music revolution of the 1960s and was the first Beatles song to be heard in the US. The reason for picking this song over others is because this made them know. The band wanted appeal to America, so they wrote a song that Americans would like. The song is about someone who wants a girl to be his and basically-hold his hand. Its catchy, and simple. This song is important because the Beatles are revolutionary and this song let America know about them.

    Barack Obama
    First Afro -American who was elected as the president of the US serving 2 terms in the White House. This event in history is important because it breaks down a racial barrier in American politics. The message behind the election to me is that don't let a barrier stand in your way, and anything is possible no matter the color of your skin. He made many important changes in office and was seen as a great president. Barack Obama will be remembered forever as an intelligent man that changed history.
