It was final that Great Britain and 13 North American British colonies were seperated,
The reason for seperation was because of economic reasons.

Quebec seperates from Canada -Devolution
Before seperation, the territory of Quebec had a large population of Catholic. The rest of Canada was Protestant. This lead to culture issues.
Quebec became its own province.

Ireland and Northern Ireland- In the 1920’s the British Empire granted Ireland independence but divided the country of Ireland into two. This is because different parts of Ireland were different religions. The two countries are now called Ireland (Catholic) and Northern Ireland (Protestant) now part of the United Kingdom because they have the same religion. -
