Rosa's husband Hans promised to assist the family of the man that saved his life, a Jewish man. Max is the son of the Jewish man, and he needs a place to hide from the Nazis. Rosa must help Max stay safe. -
Franz Deutscher -- the irate Hitler Youth leader
Since February, Franz Deutscher has been putting up with clumbsy Tommy Muller and his incapabilty to hear. When Tommy messes up in line, Franz snaps and yells at him. Rudy trys to explain that Tommy can't hear the directions, but Franz does not care. He sends both the boys to do drills in the muddy fields. -
Franz and Rudy's Fight
Rudy sees Franz walking down the street while with Liesel, Tommy, and Kristina. Rudy picks up a rock a throws it at Fanz, it hits him in the back. Franz beats Rudy to a pulp, Rudy leaves the scence with cracked ribs and a black eye. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japenese navy attacked the United states Naval based located in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This suprise miliatry strike is why the USA entered WWII. Around 2,400 people were killed. -
Snowball Fight
On Christmas Eve, Rosa, Max, Liesel, and Hans had a snowball fight in the basement. This would eventualy lead to Max's illness. -
Max Falls Ill
Max had been showing symtoms that he was sick for a few weeks. However, this was the night, next to the fire, that he fell. -
Max wakes up
Max has been ill for many months, when he finally wakes up Rosa rushes to Liesels school to tell her the good news. Rosa pretends to be angry with Liesel so that nobody suspects anything. -
Nazis Check the Basements
Liesel is out playing soccer when she see NAZIS are checking the basemetns of houses on Himmel Street. Quckly she pretends to get hurt so she can run inside and warn Rosa and Hans. She gets there right in time, Hans hides Max under a Nazi flag. The officer leaves unsuspisious. -
Treblinka
Treblinka Concentration Camp is opened, this camp will kill 850,000 Jews. -
Hitler Youth Carnival
Jesse OwenaRudy intended to win 4 events in the Hitler Youth Carnival, he wanted to please his new group leaders and show up the old one Franz Deutscher. After the 1500 Deutscher claimed all the laps he made Rudy run paid off -
Sirens
In Septemeber, was the first air-raid. Rosa, Liesel, Hans, and their neighbors huddled into their designated basements. The crowd in the hubermann's assighned basement was scared, so Liesel read her book to them, which calmed them. -
The Man with the Bread
A parade of Jews on thier way to Dachau came through Molching, Hans could not help himself. He started feeding the parade of Jews with bread. A Nazi beat him and took his name. -
Max Leaves
Max feels that the Hubbermans have done enough. Hans offers to meet him by the river; however, when Hans gets to the river Max is already gone. -
Hans Leaves
Hans is forced to work as a LCE, he cleans up the rubble and helps surviores after bombings. He leaves on a train going to Stalingrad. -
Hans Comes Home
Hans gets to come home because of a brokien leg caused by a car accedent. If it werent for the man that stole Hans' seat, Hans could be dead. -
Rosa Dies
Rosa is killed by a bombing, Liesel survives. -
Attempt to Assassinate Hitler
Officer Stauffenberg brought a breifcase with a bomb in it to a meeting with Hitler and other officers held underground. He left the meeting to use the bathroom, in the bathrrom he started the bomb. He went back into the meeting room and put the breifcase under the table with the help of another undercover officer, the briefcase made its way next to Hitler. One of Hitlers men figured out qwhat was happening and shoved the briefcase behind the table leg saving hitler. -
Evacuation of Auschwitz
The Soviet Army was approaching Auschwitz quickly, so the NAZIS destroyed the gas chambers and sent the prisoners on a "death march" to Wodzisław Śląski. From there they would be dispersed to other camps. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
Bombing of Hiroshima At 8:15 in the morning American air forces dropped the nuclear bomb named Little Boy on Hiroshima, Japan. The casualties were mostly innocent civilians.
