    The Great Depression was a significant event in early history because of what happened in the Roaring Twenties and all the wealth that was accumulated from it. All the stocks that people had bought all but disappeared because of the shear number of people buying stocks.
  • The On-To-Ottawa Trek

    The On-To-Ottawa Trek
    The On-To-Ottawa Trek is a significant event in history because it shows what people can do against apposing odds. The On-To-Ottawa trekkers goal was to fix the poor conditions in the Depression era camps. The event in whole sparked riots in some of the city's they passed through.
  • BCATP

    BCATP
    The British Commonwealth Air Training Plan was made in 1939 to supply the Allies with air craft for World War 2. The agreement was signed by all Allied forces. This Training Plan was used through out all of World War 2. It was used to train deploy and protect everyone from the Axis forces during the events of World War 2

    The Battle of Britain was used as a way to get Britain to agree to a peace settlement but Nazi Germany didn't achieve that. Hitler tried to invade Britain but then quickly realized that it would be a massive invasion that he wasn't necessarily prepared for.

    Just after the bombing of Pearl Harbor all Japanese Canadians were thought to be spies working for their home country. They were all placed into internment camps and were treated very badly. They were treated like less than humans. All their rights were revoked and all their possessions were sold for war profits.

    The Battle of Hong Kong was a brutal and desperate fight for the defending Canadians that willingly gave up there lives and didn't surrender to the attackers. They fought very bravely in the face of utter defeat and fought to hold Hong Kong even though it was almost certain defeat for them. Some of these defenders were taken captive and beaten, tortured and basically treated horribly.

    The Dieppe Raid was a significant event in history because it shows how valuable careful planning is and much it pays off to have all the information right. The Allie forces were planning to land in Dieppe and swiftly take control of the city of Dieppe. However they did not do enough reconnaissance and didn't realise that they were going into a trap. 3000 soldiers casualties in the assault.

    The D-Day Juno Beach Landing was a significant event in history because of how much of an impact it was on turning the tide of the war. The D-Day landing was a extremely important event especially for the Canadians landing on Juno beach. They succeeded in taking German territory and holding it.
