In the 18th century the Industrial Revolution began. This was the era where agriculture became more industrialised and urban, as more inventions were created. The manufacturing industry then made inventions to be made cheaper and easier to work allowing the economy to strive. This then lead to less people needed to work farms and companies. Whilst the Revolution took place many people then began moving from rural farms to more urbanised cities.

The Age of Revolution was a period of time in the late 18th to the mid 19th century that occurred in Europe and America. This time was when a lot of important revolutionary movements happened. The cause of this was because of new beliefs about the roles of governments. The new revolutions founded included the following: the proclaimed independence, a written constitution from governments and the creation of a political unit as equal (a nation state).

The Napoleonic War happened in the early 1800s, when Napoleon ruled and led the French into many battles. These Battles happened because of a global conflict over miscalculations by some foreign ministers. As Napoleon led the French, not long after they took dominance over most of continental Europe. However, after their long feud against the rest of the world it then came to an end in 1815 when their Empire lost at the Battle of Waterloo.

In the time period of the early 1800s British whalers travelled down to Van Diemen's Land and settled in Adventure Bay. A short while after the British settled, they then began a whaling industry when they created 4 different shore based whaling stations. However, this was not the first record of the British taking interest of Van Diemen's Land. From the time of 1778 the British had wanted to explore the Lands and since this first settlement from the Whalers it was made possible.

Tasmania's Black War occurred in the mid 1820s till the year 1832. This was the period of time where the British colonists and the Aboriginal Australians fought for many years. The war began when over 200 British colonists travelled to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania), and fought against and murdered many people of the land. The intense war then ended around 10 years later with only a few Indigenous people that survived. Truganini was then to be known as the last full blooded Aboriginal Australian.

In the year 1878 Ned Kelly's gang was hunted by police officers at the area of Stringy Bark Creek. During this, the gang heard some guns that were fired nearby so they decided to protect themselves. However, as this happened deaths of many police officers were committed that day. Shortly after Ned Kelly wrote a letter stating everything that happened and that he was innocent. Many people to this day claim that he did it for his safety however many still believe that he killed out of revenge.
