    The Crockett family struggled financially and at the age of twelve, Davy was indentured to Jacob Siler to help pay the family debt. This sparked Crockett's hard working personality at a young age which helped him become a great soldier and politician.
  • David Crockett enlists in the military.

    David Crockett enlists in the military.
    Crockett enlists as a scout with Francis Jones' Company of Mounted Rifleman during the Creek War. This marks the beginning of Crockett fighting in wars and as a great soldier.
  • Crockett re-enlists

    Crockett re-enlists as a Third Sergeant with the Tennessee Mounted Gunman. This event is important because Davy helped America at this time by contributing to the removal of british forces from Florida.
  • Crockett enters politics

    After moving his family to Lawrence County, Crockett enters politics and is appointed County Justice of the Peace. This started him as a politician and he would then handle both civil and criminal cases.
  • Crockett is elected to Tennessee General Assembly.

    Crockett runs successfully for a seat in the Tennessee General Assembly, representing Lawrence and Hickman counties. This made made Davy rapidly become known for his strong anecdotal oratory skills.

    This is important because it once again show that Crockett was not only a great soldier and frontiersman, but also a successful politician.

    Crockett publishes the book A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett, written by himself. This allows researchers today to find out more information about Davy Crockett
  • Crockett prevents an assassination attempt on Andrew Jackson.

    Crockett prevents an assassination attempt on Andrew Jackson.
    Despite their political differences, Crockett famously came to Andrew Jackson’s aid during an assassination attempt. If Crockett had not prevented this assassination attempt, the U.S. would've lost a president which would have changed the history and future of the nation.

    Crockett arrives at the Alamo
    Crockett arrives at the Alamo to defend it against advancing Mexican troops. On February 25, Mexican troops cross the San Antonio River and fighting begins. This is another example showing David Crockett as a war hero and helping his country.
  • Davy Crockett is killed

    Davy Crockett is killed
    Crockett is killed fighting in the final Battle of the Alamo. Crockett was 49 years old. The U.S. lost a great frontiersman, soldier, and politician; but he died fighting for his country.
