England felt the ladies soccer was getting too much attention and would be more important than male sports, so they decided to ban wiman's soccer.

4 Woman's soccer teams were created in the US to see if the sport took off. It only lasted 2 full season and wasn't very sucsessful. But this was the spark to woman's soccer to come.

The US won this first year. They were the biggest and best at the time but other competitors were getting better.

First league where woman were paid as professional athletes. This league came to be when the US Beat China in the 1999 World Cup.

After playing 3 full seasons the US lost 100 million dollars so they cut the whole program.
