    Nuremberg Germany

    Nuremberg Germany
The residents of the medieval German city witnessed was is now interpreted to be a large air battle between aircraft of various shapes. The craft were described as moving erratically, and some were said to have fallen outside the city. The event was documented in a newspaper from the day, but some today believe that it was simply the reaction of a highly religious society to a natural event, such as a meteor shower or a swarm of locusts.
  • Aurora, Texas

Between 1896-97, there were several reports of airships of unknown origin across the US. Originally believed to be the work of a mad inventor, the origin of the craft remains a mystery. The events came to a head, when, on April 17, 1897, one of the ships crashed into a windmill in Aurora Texas. The local residents were shocked by the crash, and gathered the debris from the crash, which they claim to have dumped the majority of into a well. A body, described as”not of this world” was also reporte
  • Foo Fighters and the Battle of Los Angeles

Foo Fighters and the Battle of Los Angeles
Throughout World War II reports of mysterious lights in the sky were made all over the world, from Nazi Germany to the South Pacific. The most notable of these was a “battle” between the US artillery guns stationed in Los Angeles and several mysterious lights. Occurring shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the military initially believed it to be an surprise attack by the Japanese, and ordered the guns to fire on the lights, resulting in over 1,400 shells being fired over the city. The offi
  • Kenneth Arnold

     Kenneth Arnold
The first widely publicized UFO sighting, seen as first modern UFO event. When flying in Washington state, American pilot Kenneth Arnold saw a series of “flying saucers”, his description of the objects being the origin of the term. The military investigated, but found only that Arnold sincerely believed that he had seen the unidentified flying objects. The report stated that he had seen “a mirage.”
  • Roswell

    Roswell
An object crashed into the New Mexico desert, and was observed by both civilians and military personnel. The official explanation of a weather balloon crash was accepted by the public until journalist Stanton T. Friedman began to interview some of the locals who had witnessed the crash. It became clear that there was more to the story than the official explanation. Witnesses described far more debris than would be expected of a weather balloon, and the materials described were nothing like what
  • 1952 Washington, D.C. UFO incident

Sightings of UFOs over Washington DC in 1952, prompted official investigation. This case is notable because several airports and military installations had confirmed radar pings for the objects.
  • Betty and Barney Hill abduction

The first widely published case of alien abduction was of Betty and Barney Hill, and occurred on September 19 1961. Driving at night, the two saw what they described as an erratically moving star, which after a time they pulled over to observe. Using a pair of binoculars, Barney observed that the star was made up of multiple colors, and even had windows. Inside of the windows Barney could see figures moving. The ship began to move toward them, and the two sped along down the highway. They then r
  • Shag Harbour UFO incident

    Shag Harbour UFO incident
The most notable Canadian UFO event occurred off the coast of Nova Scotia on the morning of October 4, 1967. Witnesses described an object the fell into the ocean before continuing on for several minutes underwater. The RCMP investigated the incident, initially believing it to be a plane crash, but American authorities soon became involved. Some believe the aquatic object was in fact a Soviet submarine, but this explanation is highly unlikely as there was no Soviet activity in the region. The of
  • Rendlesham Forest incident

An encounter at a joint American/British air force base housing a large number of nuclear weapons. Lights were observed in the sky, and were seen to land in a nearby forest. After investigating, servicemen saw areas of burned vegetation surrounding large indentations in the ground. Geiger counters also revealed high levels of radiation in the area surrounding the marks.
  • Japan Air Lines flight 1628

    Japan Air Lines flight 1628
A sighting by a Japanese airline flight over northern Alaska. The pilots reported seeing two small objects, which were detected by the planes radar. After being followed by the objects, a third “mother ship” joined the other two, which then entered the larger object, described as being massive, “twice the size of an aircraft carrier". When the plane began to come into sight of Fairbanks the large craft left the plane by going straight into the air. Two separate ground based radars also detected
  • STS-48 UFO Sighting

    STS-48 UFO Sighting
Footage from the International Space Station and Space Shuttle Discovery show what appear to be moving objects in the vicinity of the station. While NASA deemed the objects to be debris from the launch and ice particles illuminated by the sun, the movement of the particles suggests that they are flying in a controlled fashion, not influenced by the shuttle’s thrusters. A similar incident happened again in 1996.
  • Phoenix Lights

    Phoenix Lights
A series of mass sightings by thousands of people in Arizona. One of the largest mass sightings in history, witnesses described lights moving in a V-Shaped pattern. The US Air force said that the sightings were of flares used during a training exercise. The incident is especially notable, in that a high level official, Arizona’s then governor, saw the lights as well.
  • Tinley Park Lights

    Tinley Park Lights
A series of mass sightings in the Illinois town of Tinley Park. The case is interesting because of the massive amount of photos and video taken during the event.
